Two heads are better than one, or at least that’s what The Mastersons will tell you.

Chris Masterson & Eleanor Whitmore are singer-songwriters / multi-instrumentalists - who make inspired albums of their own emotionally vivid, deeply humanistic songs. The pair have released four critically acclaimed albums.

Residing in Los Angeles, they are working on their fifth album, producing other artists in their studio, and holding court at Hollywood's Gold-Diggers bi-monthly as “The Mastersons & Friends” with many of their celebrated friends.

Chris & Eleanor have recorded and played live with legendary artists. Eleanor has performed with Elvis Costello, Kelly Willis, Angus and Julia Stone to name a few, while Chris plays guitar alongside Jakob Dylan in The Wallflowers. He’s also played with Son Volt, Jack Ingram, Bobby Bare Jr in addition to being a producer and musical director.

Both individually and together Chris and Eleanor have played on Tanya Tucker’s GRAMMY Album, “While I’m Livin’,” and most recently completed a 12-year / 7 album stint as members of Steve Earle’s band The Dukes. They've also backed Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne, Emmy-lou Harris, Lucinda Williams, Jason Isbell and many others.

Their 2012 debut “Birds Fly South” was a breakout hit on both sides of the pond, with Uncut magazine's rating of 9/10 stars and Esquire dubbing them one of the “Bands You Need To Know Right Now”.

Two years later, they followed up with “Good Luck Charm”, praised by the NY Times and Mother Jones for its "big-hearted lyrics, tight song structures, and sweetly intertwined harmonies. Popmatters ranked it "among the top Americana releases of 2014," while American Songwriter called it "a perfect soundtrack for a summer of warm nights and hot, lazy days,".

2017 saw the release of “Transient Lullaby” which had a darker, mellower approach, still possessing the uncanny rapport that they’ve developed in their experiences together. In 2020 they released their fourth “No Time ForLove Songs”, produced by Shooter Jennings.

Special Guest BONNIE WHITMORE  is not new to the music business. For the last two decades, she’s played bass and sung with some of the biggest artists in the Americana genre. The accomplished sidewoman aims to inspire big conversations with lush, catchy songs. As someone who’s never shied away from the issues, she’s not afraid to be direct. Her album is full of topical songs, tackling suicide, rape culture, loss, and the great American divide. Her intention is never to preach, but rather inspire discussion and reflection.

Notes on Seating: Jack London provides two options for tickets. Reserved Seating is on a table-by-table basis in the central part of the venue and id only available for select shows. Seating in the General Admission is limited, first come first served, and may be standing room only.

The Mastersons

The Mastersons (a duo consisting of Chris Masterson and Eleanor Whitmore) are releasing their third album Transient Lullaby in the spring of 2017. New West Records released their first two records to considerable critical acclaim, and Americana airplay in North America and abroad. Much like the title suggests they move around a lot and they are currently based in Los Angeles CA. Chris and Eleanor are also integral members of Steve Earle’s band, The Dukes. They have opened hundreds of shows all over the world for Steve including North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. The Mastersons have also headlined tours in North America and UK/Europe. In addition to opening for Steve Earle over the last five years, The Mastersons have also supported Richard Thompson, Rhett Miller, Justin Currie, Matthew Sweet, Paul Thorn, Los Lobos and Alejandro Escovedo among many others. They have had slots at various festivals throughout the world including Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco and Bluesfest in Byron, Bay Australia. The band's third album Transient Lullaby was recorded at Arlyn Studios in Austin TX and was produced by Chris Masterson & George Reiff. The collection of songs is the duo’s most expansive work yet. The band will tour all through 2017 to support their latest endeavor.
