Jujuba bio:
Duniya bio: DUNIYA is a world music band, rooted in the music of Mali, West Africa, which blends ancient and modern grooves and instruments into a rich and unique tapestry of sound. Comprised of members from Mali, India, and the USA, Duniya emits highly rhythmic dance music interspersed with more deep and profound cultural grooves. Featuring exotic instruments such as the ngoni (12 string African harp), Djembe drum, and Bunsuri Indian flute, Duniya creates a transcendent musical experience you won’t soon forget.
Notes on Seating: Jack London provides two options. Reserved Seating is purchased on a table-by-table basis in the central part of the venue and is only available for select shows. Seating in the General Admission section is limited, first come first served, and may be standing room only.
[ joo joo bah ] Ridiculously danceable Afrobeat and Juju music from Portland, Oregon. The eleven-piece ensemble features Nigerian Master Talking Drum legend, Nojeem Lasisi, Ghanaian Kpanlogo drum master, Alex Mensah, a blazing horn section, and a funky electric rhythm section.
As a member of Nigerian superstar King Sunny Ade's group, the African Beats, Nojeem toured the world and appeared on numerous recordings with King Sunny, including "Seven Degrees North" and "Odu”.
Jujuba has been bringing the heat to every performance for 23 years, getting people on their feet and moving to their funky, joyous, drum-fueled Afrobeat and Juju music.
