SALAMI ROSE JOE LOUIS
(Lindsay Olsen) is multi instrumentalist, producer, singer songwriter on Flying Lotus’ label Brainfeeder. Drawing influences from jazz, soul, hip-hop, pop, Shuggie Otis, Captain Beefheart, Stereolab, and R. Stevie Moore, she creates a blend of experimental dreamy sounds with jazz influenced vocals & keys.

SRJL just surprise released a new Brainfeeder EP, "Salami Live at 2131 North Kacey Street" which features new versions of songs from her catalog, including 2023's  Akousmatikous, with the help of a stellar cast of musicians Flanafi (guitar), Tone Whitfield (bass), Nazir Ebo (drums).

From its very opening, the EP presents a Salami Rose Joe Louis you’ve not heard before. “ZEE COMPLEX” places Olsen’s soft, wispy voice against eerie, urgent, and at points abrasive instrumentation. It’s a dynamic introduction to the magic conjured by Olsen and her collaborators!

The former climate scientist released the highly acclaimed “Zdenka 2080” (2019) and “Chapters of Zdenka” (2020) and most recent (2023) “Akousmatikous” which featured Brijean (Ghostly) & Soccer96 (The Comet is Coming’s Danalogue and Betamax).

She creates an unique experience: exploring ideas of multiverses and climate change through the lens of a fictional post-apocalyptic keyboard-toting earthling with a flashlight, a can of cashews and a hopeful optimism.

“Zdenka 2080” was nominated for Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Awards for best album of 2020. She had the honor of joining Flying Lotus’ Flamagra Tour, the Cinematic Orchestra’s European tour, Toro y Moi’s “Outer Peace Tour”, TuneYards US. tour and supported the likes of Clairo, MNDSGN, Homeshake, and Still Woozy. She was  featured on Toro y Moi’s album, Mahal, and did a remix Hiatus Kaiyote on Ninja Tune/Brainfeeder.

OMARI JAZZ is the Portland based beat scientist. His latest release is the second volume of Reflections, Black Decelerant, as the duo of Khari Lucas, aka Contour, and Omari Jazz, exploring improvisational jazz traditions through contemporary tone and texture, fostering sonic meditations on themes of Black being and nonbeing, life and mourning, expansion and limitation, and the individual and collective. The Black Decelerant collaboration, and intention, creates space for listeners to be still, while providing a basis for a movement beyond “the moment.”

Notes on Seating: Two options for ticket purchasers. Reserved Seating is purchased on a table-by-table basis in the central part of the venue and is only available for select shows. Seating in the General Admission section is limited, first come first served, and may be standing room only.
