VibesDontLie, an evening of Chaz Van Queen. 

 

Chaz Van Queen (The Bronx, NYC) brings a simple oneness, a sense of belonging to every space he performs. He calls this experience, VibesDontLie. It's Serving diaspora, with Chaz Van singing, playing and MCing the evening through influences of Hip Hop, Nu-jazz and Funk. Imagine Stevie Wonder meets Slick Rick... As much informed by the classics as the cutting edge, Chaz Van is a part of the emerging scene of  Uptown (NYC), genre-fluid electronic musicians. After first visiting Portland while opening for Hip Hop giant Talib Kweli, Chaz Van returned to form his band, VDL. Supported by Portlands finest Domo Branch (Drums, percussion) and Sam Arnold (Bass).
