Machado Mijiga joins forces with Cincinnati's dynamic duo, Ben Tweedt and Matt Wiles, for a special night of original forward-thinking jazz music.

Ben Tweedt is a pianist, composer, arranger, and music educator based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born in Brunswick, Ohio and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Ben began his classical training on the piano from a young age. By the beginning of his Piano Performance bachelor's degree at the University of Nebraska-Omaha at the age of 17, he began to switch his focus to improvisation and composition while actively participating in the Omaha music scene.
After completing his degree in Omaha, Ben relocated to his current home city of Cincinnati to pursue a Master's Degree in Jazz Studies at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music where he received a full-ride scholarship and graduate assistantship. In 2018-2019, Ben taught at Central State University as an Adjunct Instructor of Jazz Studies.
Ben is currently an active musician on the Cincinnati music scene, performing in many different genres, writing original compositions and arrangements, and teaching private students.
Ben was the winner of the Nebraska Young Jazz Artist competition in 2014 and the American Jazz Pianist Competition in 2019. In 2020, Ben released his debut solo piano EP, “Scenes,” which can be found exclusively on his Bandcamp site.

Based in Cincinnati, OH, Matt Wiles is an in-demand acoustic, electric, and synth bassist performing throughout the United States.
His playing is featured on the albums Arcane Wisdom (Spherical Agenda), The Long Middle (Wistful Thinking), Life's Moments (David McGlynn), and many more.
Matt has performed with highly acclaimed artists such as Snarky Horns, Gary Versace, Colin Stranahan, Noah Preminger, Joel Frahm, Fareed Haque, Peter Mazza, Dan Wilson, Teddy Kumpel, Glenn Zaleski, Victor Provost, Bobby Selvaggio, Sam Blakeslee, and The Drifters.

Multi-instrumentalist and Portland native Machado Mijiga wears many hats, both literally and metaphorically.
Classically-trained, jazz-weathered, and eclectically inclined, Mijiga left the proverbial creative "box" at a very early age, with access to many instruments and a diverse musical background brought about by an intercultural heritage.
Mijiga is a musical polymath; composer, producer, bandleader, educator, gear fanatic, and audio engineer, to name a few.
Authenticity and uniquity assume the locus of Mijiga's artistic identity. Self-expression is the prime directive, and the medium of choice changes like the weather.
