WEEDIE BRAIMAH
A Djembist, Composer, Producer and Folklorist of the highest caliber, Braimah has an almost insatiable knack to draw entire audiences into his groove, zigzagging through Africa on a breathtaking rhythmic roller coaster. His sound is the new voice of Djembe Music around the world.

Braimah comes from a long lineage of drummers including his mother, Ann Morris, a respected jazz drummer and his father, Oscar Sulley Braimah, a world-renowned composer and master drummer. Braimah has been a performer, teacher and preserver of African culture for over 30 years and continues to peruse new musical crossings every day. He also leads his own band, Weedie Braimah & The Hands of Time, where he mounts the Djembe as the frontage presenting music of the diaspora. His band has appeared in Europe, Cuba, Dubai and the United States to name a few. Braimah’s debut album was also featured in Times Magazine as one of the top 10 albums of 2021.

ADI OASIS
French-Caribbean singer, bassist and producer Adi Oasis (FKA Adeline) spent most of the pandemic soothing our frazzled nerves with a constant stream of soulful, heartwarming songs, including 2 EPs, collaborations with Masego, Blue Lab Beats, Pastel, Kamauu, Yakul, Jean Tonique and more. Her unique blend of funk, R&B and soul got us through the long hard months as we watched our world go up in flames, both literally and figuratively.

With the hustle and shine (and cautious optimism) of a classic NYC immigrant, Adi’s most recent EP, Adi Oasis, included a premiere of “Whisper My Name” on A COLORS SHOW. Praised by Rolling Stone, Bass Player, Blackbook and more, the 7-song collection features a handful of previously shared, fan-favorite singles and three enthralling new tracks, including the brand new single, “Stages” ft. KAMAUU.

Adi Oasis also produces under the moniker Night Shade with her partner  Morgan Wiley (Midnight Magic, Jessica 6). Their first cut for another artist was the sun-drenched summer jam “Mango” for Atlantic Records artist Kamauu, which also features Adeline on vocals and  bass.

Adi Oasis has toured globally, appearing with Anderson .Paak, JUNGLE, Lee Fields, Chromeo, Big Freeda, and more, and has performed at Central Park Summerstage, Afropunk, Funk on the Rocks (Red Rocks) and Winter Jazz Fest.

Ticket holders for this show receive free admission to Jack London’s Burly-Q Revue, Downtown Portland’s hottest late-night cabaret - featuring the finest dancers from the Rose City, the West Coast and beyond!
