Notes on Seating: The Jack London provides two options for ticket purchasers: Reserved Seating and General Admission. Reserved Seating is purchased on a table-by-table basis in the central part of the venue and is only available for select shows. Both Tables AND General Admission seating is limited on a first come first serve basis

Drummer, composer, and bandleader Matt Mayhall now calls the Pacific Northwest home after nearly 20 years as a freelance musician in Los Angeles. In his career he has worked with an eclectic range of world-renowned performers in jazz, improvised music, singer-songwriter, folk, indie rock, indie pop, American roots music and performance art.
 
He has released two albums and one live EP of his own compositions - Picture Day (2021), Fanatics (2020), and Tropes (2016) - all highlighting his collaborative relationships with guitarist Jeff Parker, saxophonist Chris Speed, bassists Paul Bryan and Tim Lefebvre, and keyboardists Jeff Babko and Adam Benjamin. 
 
He has performed and/or recorded with Bennie Maupin, Ron Carter, Brad Shepik, David Binney, Todd Sickafoose, Eyvind Kang, Devin Hoff, Anthony Wilson, Brandon Seabrook, Adam Levy, David Piltch, Josh Johnson, Anna Butterss, Charles Altura, Ben Wendel, Shane Endsley, Ralph Alessi, George Colligan, Dan Rosenboom, Eric Revis, and countless others.  
 
​​Mayhall’s professional duties have also taken him outside the jazz world, touring with The Both (a power-pop trio with Aimee Mann and Ted Leo), with Aimee Mann in support of her GRAMMY-winning album Mental Illness, and with folk singer Dar Williams. He starred alongside Fred Armisen and Bill Hader in the IFC series Documentary Now! as a member of the Blue Jean Committee
 
Mayhall also spent several years in the alt-country/slow-core band Spain. He appears alongside the Haden Triplets on Spain’s The Morning Becomes Eclectic Session, and alongside Charlie Haden on Sargent Place.

Mayhall holds an MFA in Jazz Studies from California Institute Of The Arts, He studied drums with Joe La Barbera, improvisation with Charlie Haden and Wadada Leo Smith, and West African drumming with Alfred Ladzekpo. He has been a guest artist and instructor at Cal Arts, University of Southern California, Metropolitan State University Denver, Willamette University, and University of Nevada Reno. He has served on the faculty at Musicians Institute, Fresno State, and University of Nevada Reno. He is currently teaching drumming at Revival Drum Shop in Portland.
