Julana Torres, known as“La Colorá''is a multifacetedartist gracing Portland and national stagesfor over 25 years. Born to legendary percussionist Bobby Torres and Broadway sensation JulaneStites, Julana’s world has been dominated by music, theatre and dance. She returned to the stagerecently after a career of teaching with Portland Public Schools where she founded the full timedance program for Franklin High School. She has since co-starred in Netflix's Trinkets, featuredfilmLosing Addison, and has been nominated by thePortland Drammy Awards twice as bestactress for theatre career. As a classically trained dancer, singer and actor, Julana’s versatility as aperformer, paired with her Puerto Rican roots, engages audiences in an unforgettable rhythmicexperience. Her new group“La Colorá” is an explosionof classic Salsa, Latin Jazz, andPop/Salsa fusion.La Coloráhighlights the legacyof her percussionist family as she is joined onstage by her father Bobby Torres and brother Carmelo Torres.
