What are the common threads that bridge jazz, soul, and classical music with spiritual connection and community service?

This is the question that drives international touring artist Max Ribner. The sound that answers is rich, reverent, and intimate, connecting us through the lineage of music, to the stories of our ancestors. In the past, Max's unique and fusion-inspired approach to Flugelhorn and trumpet has led him to perform with artists such as Esperanza Spalding, Nahko And Medicine For The People, Trevor Hall, The Polish Ambassador, Liv Warfield and many more. The result of years of collaboration with such a broad musical community is powerfully illustrated on Max's debut solo album, 1st Language. The 11-song debut album brings 50+ artists together in a cross-continental collaboration for the ages. Featured artists include: Bobby Sparks II (Roy Hargrove, Snarky Puppy,) Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy,) Saeeda Wright (Prince,) Sharay Reed (Chaka Kahn,) to name a few.In addition, the album was mixed by Grammy award winning mix engineer, Ben Kane (D'Angelo PJ Morton and Emily King) Completed in late 2020, amidst the din of COVID-19, national elections, and an ongoing movement for equality and inclusion, 1st Language is a sonic calling together of our collective humanity. Be sure to keep an ear out for the album, which will be birthed into the world's sonic landscape on March 4th, and available on all digital streaming platforms at midnight.

Whether singing on a grand stage, speaking to an eager crowd, or authoring stories through lyric, melody and beyond, Saeeda Wright is sure to elevate your mind and your spirit to heights you didn’t know you could reach. Her passion is electrifying, and her voice so magnetic you cannot help but find yourself enveloped in the stories Saeeda is telling.

You will be captivated by more than just what you hear coming from Saeeda when she takes the stage, you will feel loved, inspired, and encouraged all at the same time. These are the gifts Saeeda has been cultivating since she was a child. Surrounded by praise and worship ministers, it was in her blood to find her voice and tend to its blossom throughout her life, including furthering her education as a Voice Major at Clark Atlanta University.

Saeeda has been seen on stages backing Prince, is a member of his New Power Generation, and is featured with the Tim Snider Trio. Over the last twenty years, Saeeda has had the privilege of working with artists such as Lalah Hathaway, Mike Phillips, Patrick Lamb, Duffy Bishop, and The Pacific Northwest’s own Liv Warfield. Saeeda has also been blessed to grace the stage with, or open for, Gospel Music Power-houses Jessica Reedy, Cece Winans, Crystal Akin, JJ Harrison and Yvette Williams of the Kurt Carr Singers. Some of Saeeda’s studio credits include Prince, Derrick McDuffey and Kingdom Sound, Liv Warfield, and Patrick Lamb, to name a few. She is very well known and respected for her work as a soloist with the Oregon Symphony and has been a regular participant in Portland’s Annual Blues Festival, as well as many other festivals and events that take place in Oregon annually.
